First week of Connect, Reconnect

Kathy gave an history of the Internet and compared the web as it used to be to the way it is now. We explored Wikipedia and some of the sister projects including WikiMedia Commons. Then we used Yelp to learn about places to eat and things to do in Long Beach. Both Wikipedia and are examples of user generated content.

I've just checked to see who has added to their blog and was pleased to see several that are really growing. Look at your classmates blogs. Leave a comment if you choose.

Third week of class

 We are continuing to learn about blogging. Today we learned how to edit a previous post, follow someone else's blog, and create an avatar to use for a profile picture. Next week we will learn how to make a web page. I hope you all have an idea of what you would like your web page to be about.
